It'll keep for a long time. Just keep it away from direct light, heat, and moister.
You should wrap it up in some tinfoil, bag it, then place it somewhere that stays moderately cool, dark and dry. Maybe your closet, or in a drawer somewhere.

yea i figured it would since its a chemical. probly a stupid question but will it lose potency over time (im thinking no but i need to make sure )

No, it's not a stupid question and many chemicals decompose very fast in some conditions.
LSD is a stable molecule in complete oxygen and light free environment, but it's not easy to store your LSD that way.
I don't know how fast LSD on blotter decomposes, but from what I've heard it will last long.

Hypothetically, if someone got some at a festival, what would be the best way to store it/carry it in order to save it for later?

LSD degrades very quickly if it's not stored correctly. I wrap my doses in plastic wrap, press airtight, wrap in tin foil and press airtight again, sometimes i place them in another bag, other times not......either way I take the wrapped doses in put them in either a CD case or a book, and place the CD/book in a cool, dry, dark place. LSD will last for years if stored this way.

Understandable, but what if a friend were to get some, put it in some tin foil, then inside a plastic bag, and put the bag in his pocket and leave it there for several hours until he can get it to ideal conditions? Would you think there would be a lot of potency loss, or just minimal? Or better yet, are there any better ways of storing it while at a festival?

I've wrapped doses and held unto them (in my pocket) throughout shows and fests with no potency lose. It's better to be safe than sorry though; pull out the plastic lining of a CD case (the part that you clip the CD to), put the doses in there and lock in car (if it's not too warm out.) If it's too warm out than place CD case in a cooler. Pockets are generally fine though as long as they are carefully wrapped and you don't let them get too hot or wet.

I wouldn't start to worry about heat or light on LSD unless it is for more than a continous months time. Being generous here too. Moisture is probably your only concern. You have a good two years of dry storage without having to do the cryogenic frezing procedures you see in most of these threads.
