Hey guys,
For the pressure cooker... would 12 PSI be good enough if i cook it for say 45 minutes? And can anyone help me find a good yet cheap pressure cooker that will do the job. i dont need anything fancy at all. thank you

12 psi will work fine. 45 minutes would be enough for pf jars, but I'd go an hour and a half to two hours for rye or popcorn. RR

Why would he recommend it if he wasn't sure? I love how you guys second guess the advice that's given around here sometimes. Yes, 1 and 1/2 hours at 12 P.S.I will work. I used to cook grains at 10 psi. It's no big deal, just add 30 minutes or so to your usual cook time.

It looks like it would work just fine, but i am unsure about the pressure levels. I visited manttra's website hoping to find more model information but they didnt have the psi rating either. If it were me i would keep looking until i got one that i knew was quality and had the right pressure rating.

Hey, if I were you, I'ld save that $25 ,add a little more and wait till you had enough to get something bigger. 8 quart is rather small. I think you might only get 6 1/2 pints in that. I have a 23 quart and wish I had a bigger one. When you move onto grains and quart jars, you'll really wish you had waited. Peace,Love,Happiness and Harmony. Hippie Chick

I don't need a huge one as these will just be for personal and friend use. I won't be supplying my town lol. Can anyone help me find a decent one for under 75 bucks.

They are pretty cheap at Walmart. Definitely under $75.
