Shoot 12 cc Bleach in each contaminated(bacteria) 1 Quart Mason Jar with millet seed substrate, and let to sit 24 hours, then pressure cook the jars as you normaly would and then discard contents? So the question here is... Is inhailing the vapors of clorine bleach that would have to be escaping out of the pressure cooker be very bad for you?
If you just put the jars in the PC, you'll be killing everything without the risk associated with manipulating [injecting] a fouled jar. I wouldn't really want the innards of my PC 'bleached' with the fumes, even if my lungs could handle it . I also don't think the bleach would do as much as you might think. Much more effective if the contaminated contents were already removed, the jars scrubbed with some 10% and allowed to sit for awhile. The sooner you get rid of contaminated jars, the easier decon will be.
