I would LOVE to design blotter art, but could I actually make a profession out of it?
I think I'd be good at it since my ideas tend to stay around really complex patterns of colors, shapes and just weird shit. So anybody here think it possible to make a career out of blotter art?
It must be hard to trip if you anthropomorphize your shrooms.

I don't know enough about the market to be able say if you could make a career out of it. I mentioned it because right when I saw those, it made me think of blotter art. My favorites are the mad hatter and my #1 favorite is the last one. Damn that's cool! I like the limited color palette, and those eyes make it come to life.

ya i like the last one as well - it started out as a simple picture that my friend had me draw, and i began adding on to it, until it became what it is now. i only had 3 colors with me (red orange and yellow) when i did it, and im glad that it turned out the way it did. ever time id add more id worry that im going to fuck it up, but it just came out beautifully
the Hatter (besides being my fav character in alice) was drawn for one of my friends, and since I like the way it turned out I am going to make a larger, more detailed version of it (with more color) and more in it, and it will eventually become a flourescent poster, once I learn how to turn it into one

Your art is awesome.. you have the same type of style as one of my friends from school. (i go to an art school) but he does alot of wierd stuff like that. Oh I've also been meaning to ask you for some time, what does anthropomorphize mean?

anthropomorphize means "to assign human characteristics to something not human." in other words, if you think of your mushies as humans then you probably wont eat them  well actually, maybe you would ... heh
i got the main quote directly from Calvin and Hobbes, which is pretty much my bible. in the book, Calvin was watching his mother cutting onions for dinner and she was crying, and Calvin said "Why are you crying?" so his mom said "I'm cutting up onions." and he said "It must be hard to cook if you anthropomorphize your vegetables." i dunno i just thought it'd work kinda well with shrooms

actually i do not know
i only associate the hatter with trippin because he is mad, and when i trip on acid I feel like everything is "mad", because everything is grinning at me with that crazy mad person grin ... actually now im also thinking of the cheschire cat ...

well
he went mad because of *mercury? in the glue used in making the hat.
and lifesavers are named such because they previously did not have a hole, and people would choke on them and sufficate... the hole was created to allow air to pass through, creating a-------------------->lifesaver

Wow cuz, you've got some talent. I think the third one would make a nifty tatoo. Damn you know what you could do, charge people like 10 bucks to come up with cool tattoo designs or to put their ideas on paper. This guy at my old highschool used to do it, sometimes he'd charge 20 if it took lots of time and effort. He ended up making some decent cheddar off it, too. Also he designed his own tatoo, which looks so unbelievably good.

Very nice, wish I could draw 1/2 as well... oh well can't be good at everything.
