Question about heat
    #4124688 - 05/02/05 06:38 PM (18 years, 10 months ago)

I have 3 cases in the fruiting chamber, and on one case I can see it begin to pin.
I put all these cases in at different times so I expect them to pin at different times.

Anyhow I hadn't added any heat source to the chamber the humidity is quite stable at 80-90% and the temperature is roughly 68-76oF.

DO i need to add a heat source? These seemed to pin fine under these conditions, what can I expect to see if I add heat, and will I get similar results if I left these as is?

Thanks

depends on the mushrooms. if they are pinning and fruiting in your current conditions, dont change a thing.

I fruit cubensis at room temperatures that run in the range identical to what you mentioned (68-76) and it's not harmful to fruiting at all. The worst that can happen is your crop is a few days behind, but it's no biggie. I've had fruits grow down in 65F. Granted it was slow, but they still performed. Cubes are versatile like that.
