I didn't expect that! I don't consider these 'good to look at' or 'photogenic' mushrooms... hopefully I can find some of those soon.

The spore print came out orange on the large mushroom, which has almost doubled in size now from the first picture 3 days ago. The mushrooms growing further up out of the same tree stump have started to break their veil and my guess is they are all the same species (there are a few smaller ones around the stump). The largest one is growing out of a large tree root.

The orange spore print indicates Gymnopilus, and the large size seems to indicate spectabilis. However, the partial veil seems a little too robust. G. spectabilis has a cortinate veil (spiderweb-like), but the veil on your mushroom is considerably more substantial. Also, the darker orange patches on the cap and especially the stem are more pronounced than on the G. spectabilis I find.

Gyms are hard to ID to species.
