First Manure grow attempt.

I bought four 35 lbs bags of black kow manure to attempt to grow with. Anyone have any tips on growing. Right now i put some of the manure in an old bucket and cover it for half the day and put it under lights for the other half. All I did for preperation was put the manure in a bucket and inject with spore syringe. Simple but I thought it was worth a try. I'm trying this simply as a test.

ive been wanting to try this for a simple outdoor grow. Just fill a hole with some horse poo and inject about 50cc of liquid Myc. into the hole. Mix it up and cover with some potting soil/straw. Definetly post the results of your test.

Injecting poo with liquid myc will work. But with plain spores???
Maybe!

Like I was saying earlier, I'm not new to growing or anything I just wanted to try to get some results from store bought cow manure and syringes. I'll defently post the results and add pics.

im guessing mixing some horse poo and liquid Myc. outdoors would take awhile to actually grow mushrooms. Is this correct?

i definately think your experiment is possible, how else would it grow outdoors, spores fall, get carried off by the wind and land in poo and grow, there are probly lots of other variables involved in the whole process, but its surely possible.

I'm sure it will take a while to grow. But I defintly think its worth a try. If it works it will save lots of time as far as preparing it goes. No more pressure cookers Now ill just have to see how it works. Tomarrow morning im going to put it out so it can get some light when I return ill cover it and put it away.

i have a karo/water microwave LC tek colonizing right now. It should be enough to make about 20 syringes. I think im going to make 1 syringe and use that to inoculate some popcorn jars, and use the rest of the LC to inoculate some horse poo outdoors. Hopefully it works out, but if not ill have some jars as back up.

You dont have to defend yourself! I wasnt saying you are new to growing. And even if you were new, so what?
I stated that liquid mycelium (karo-syringe) will colonize a straw/poo substrate. And that I dont know about spores.
Chill, and good luck.

What i Think that happens is that the spores fall on grass and the cows eat the grass with the spores and they flow through the digestive system and come out mixed in the cow shit some special way.
I kinda want to find a cow shit that is producing and put it in a fruiting chamber to see how many flushes i get.

i think the cows digestive system would shred the little spores to molecular pieces

Cows have very low acid stomachs. There dark, warm , humid, low oxygen, full of pasteurized wheat straw material already chopped up. Sounds like a perfect incubation chamber;).
What happens is the cows swallow the spores along with the grain. A cow has 4 stomachs, it takes quiet a while for the whole digestive process to take place, so there's plenty of time for the spores that were swallowed to germinate inside the stomach of the cow. When the cow uses the bathroom, the pile or piles will have mycelia fully developed in the "bulk" poo.
Now a change takes place. The temps drop or vary, the humidity drops, CO2 levels drop and fresh oxygen is present, and there is sunlight. This initiates the fruiting cycle, and then mushrooms appear. Cool and amazing how the two systems (cow, mushroom) work.
My friend doesn't think that the odds are going to be in your favor, just injecting spores into poo. But try this, if you are still wanting to experiment. Keep the poo in a high CO2, dark, warm place. This may germinate the spores. Other wise its best to use mycelia in your poo, than spores. Keep us informed of your results. bluhoney

Ya, if anything I'm hoping for some "if any" results from this. Gonna give it another week or so. Gonna try to give it more light during those 12 hours.
