Cold shocking a casing?

is it possible for me to cold shock one of my casings to fruit faster? im pretty much in a hurry to get this finished with before i head off to college.. :confused:

You can cold shock, but will the difference be noticeable? Probably not. More important than cold shocking is good timing of fruiting conditions from incubation, that will get you pins faster and more reliably than a cold shock.

ok thanks. but when i did cakes, didnt cold shock one, and nearly took 2 weeks to fruit. but when i cold shocked another cake, i saw pins in one week.

That's fine, but there could have been more at play there than the cold shock. I don't cold shock cubensis if that helps you, it's just not necessary in my experience. It's hardly effective in my trials, but that's not to say it's harmful.

Introducing light/misting/fanning/temp drop at the same time, in coordination, after about a day in the incubator.

i was always under the impression that cold shocking did nothing, maybe even hindered pinning.

The way I've been shocking mine is to put a few of those liquid ice things (frozen) in the terrium with them. No touching them or too close though. I suppose you could also just stick them in the refidgerator overnight.
