few questions..
    #412054 - 10/03/01 01:25 AM (21 years, 11 months ago)

Ok, my cakes are now 98% colonized. I'm surprised how quickly the growth spread considering this is my first time. Anyways, I was going to invest in a humidifier but I am too low on cash, so I decided that as it is my my first batch ever, I should go with the fish tank bubbler method for humidification. My questions are:

1. Would hand spraying the drip shield along with providing humidity with the bubbler help my situation, or would it simply create too much moisture inside the terrarium?

2. MMGG says to poke a small, but not too small, hole in the bottom of the growing chamber in order for CO2 and water to escape. Wouldn't this also let the humidity escape too? Does this 'drain' hole need something underneath to collect water?

3. I have a rubbermaid bin. What's best for cutting this so that I don't end up slicing the shit outta my fingers?

4. I can't find humidity gauges anywhere. Sears was out of them. What are some department stores that are likely to have them. I'm in Southern Cali, and most of the drug stores like Sav-On don't carry them.

I wanna stay away from any experimentation, just follow the teks this time around. Any answers, suggestion comments would be great. Thanks alot

peace

I agree.....  you can maintain 90 to 95 % humidity just with wet perlite in the bottom and a spray shield and a good sprayer . one that adjusts to a fine mist..  You also can score a cheap humidity gauge... around 5 or 6 $ at a pet store in the reptile department Hope this helps out and happy growing:)

?But I don?t want to go among mad people,? Alice remarked.
?Oh, you can?t help that,? said the Cat: I`m mad,Your mad.we`re ALL MAD!!!!  hahahahaha"
