    #4118619 - 05/01/05 02:28 PM (12 years, 26 days ago)

Hey I was wondering if I have to case popcorn or will it stay in a cake?

Popcorn should be used to case with or spawn to bulk... GL bro :stoned:

The problem with popcorn is that despite its ridiculously easy preparation and fast colonizing times, it isn't the most nutritious grain in the world and as such is reputed to put off inferior fruits. I have never fruited a cake but popcorn is my prefered spawn/casing material

No it WOULDN'T put off good fruits. At least this is what I have been told numerous times by various people, like I said I have never caked popcorn myself. I think that is universally regarded as the only pitfall of popcorn, that you can't really fruit it on its own without spawning it.

IMO the answer would be yes and no, only because some strains are more stubborn then others. I know because I've seen it first hand. Some strains just won't fruit unless cased. Cheap and easy would verm/coir or just verm... :stoned:

Chill dude.
Popcorn gives less potent fruits cause it lacks some vitamins the alkoloids need.

But the starter of this thread asks if he must case or cake it. He can do both.
And ofcourse its better to spawn the popcorn to bulk, but I missed you answering his actual question, too.

MF

edit: Many people grow on popcorn, it WILL fruit, but rye wbs and brf are a better alternative imho.

No prob bro. Can you show me the link to the factual information on the potency levels of popcorn, rye, brf, wbs. I find it interesting that corn grows less potent mushies. I would love to continue this conversation further, but I also want to make sure ShroomKillabrew's questions are answered first.

His questions are answered, so no need for further discussion.
