Wat is life?
to me life is a collection of experiances,both good and bad which help to determine what happens to you after death.you live a good life that was lived with no regrets,a life that made YOU happy a life that you would repeat in a second if given the chance is a good life.this is the life that will send you to a better place.
you live a life full of regrets,you live for other people and not for yourself.a life that ends in bitterness because you didnt live it how YOU wanted to,a life that you would not repeat in a 1000 years because you regret living it.that is the life that will keep you down after you die,a life that will stop you from reaching a better place.
dont live for material possesions,because honestly what do they bring you?happiness?yes,but only for a short period of time,60-70 years max and that is nothing in the grand scheme of things.you cant take material objects with you after you die,so why live a life devoted to them?it just doesnt make sense to me.
i live my life devoted to making bonds with people,devolping relationships and evolving my mind.the deeper the bond i form with a person the longer i will stay with them no matter how long i live because i will always be in their mind either consioucly or sub-consiously.i beleive that memories and emotions will carry on after death,in one form or another.
i dont know whether this made sense to anybody or not but the basic message of what i was trying to say is this:live your life for nobody but yourself,be true to yourself...be yourself no matter what the consequences.
its like jimi hendrix said "im the one thats got to die when its my time,so let me live my life how i want to."(im positive henrdix said something like that,maybe not in those exact words tho)
i just needed to vent and now im done.

I think the exact quote is "I'm the one thats gotta die when its time for me to die, so let me live my life, the way I want to." It's from "If 6 was 9". (I love hendrix!!)
But, to stay on topic, I would agree that being happy is all that matters. But, you need some material possessions to be happy. How can you raise a family if you don't have a place to live and a means to keep your family alive? And, I don't think anyone is sure about there after life, so they do what they can to make good with there current life. Everyone has regrets, its a part of living. You can get over them, but anyone who says they don't regret anything is lying to themselves.
Did you recently watch "American Beauty"? Heh, alot of your ideas seem to coincide with the theme of that movie.

That was the best movie I've ever seen...
As far as life goes, I'm happy with mine, but I'm always passing something by for someone else. I habitually sacrafice myself for other people. It makes things hard and sucks my energy away. I've been trying to get myself in the frame of mind to do things for me... maybe I should stop thinking and start doing.

memory and emotion are human qualities and you will more than likley loose them when you die, but I personally believe that they leave an impression on your soul that you will carry with you. Maybe you won't remember... but it is forever a piece of you.
