Is it true, on a dial up, your ip changes every time you log in?

Yes it's true for dial-up connections. Your IP number is a unique "address" assigned to you by your ISP....

used to be true on dial up...I don't know anymore...since I have been on cable forever now.

usually only a few numbers on the end of the ip address change...each time you log on.

check for yourself.

click Start.

click Run.

type in...winipcfg..then click Ok

you will see you ip address listed.

write down the number...log off.

then log back on and try it again.
