Mexi Pins/Fruits (pics)
    #4116669 - 04/30/05 11:46 PM (11 years, 7 months ago)

After learning from a couple of failed attempts due to late pin initiation and contams...

http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/4026365/an/0/page/1

http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/4037572/page//fpart/all/vc/1

...finally have managed to get some good fruits.

Multi-spore to rye, cased with peat/verm/oyster. Not a perfect pinset, but on the road to being pretty good!

Modified the set-up from the first try to include a fish pump and in-line hepa filter bringing in fresh air constantly. Seems to make all the difference. Less chance for contams, and more evaporation.

Everything looking OK?

Thanks, Diver! We'll see how they mature!! Interesting the difference between trays. They are almost exactly the same in composition.... The only difference I can see is the one with more fruits is closer to the incoming air...

Mybe its just me but it looks like you may have some blotch starting in the further tray near the right edge.

When i get blotch, it always is worst near the edges of the tray.

I hope i'm wrong!

The darkening patches on the caps.

I' suggest keeping an eye on them.

The little dark spots on the caps look like they may be a tiny bit of bacterial blotch. Nada to worry. The best of the best get that sometimes.

Stay calm & harvest as the veil breaks.
Nothing much you can do - except that.
The cracker dry one below had a touch of B/B & survived.

is bacterial blotch only cause by water drops landing on the shroom cap? any other causes?

srgtm1a--i'm not misting or fanning at all--it is working entirely from perlite and a fish pump pushing in filtered air.  probably drops from the top.

i'll make sure to send you this flush to test.

Few know that. You have a good eye.

It was a gift from my daughter. But, big, very heavy & something I would seldom wear, except very special events.
