incubation close to 90F / 31C .. bad ?
    #4113806 - 04/30/05 07:08 AM (12 years, 3 months ago)

hey!

so ive been incubating all my jars so far @ 21-27?C (70-81?F),
more at 27C/81F but recently dismantled my incubator and placed them into the server room.

well in there its a constant 30.5C/87F and i wonder,
because Anno states @ fungifun.org:
Quote:

the warmer the better, but not exceeding 27?C/81?F

if the temp in the server room could somehow be contraproductive?

so far the jars look all healthy and nice,
but well i just wonder as anno said "not exceeding" ..

input?
peace ohm :mushroom2:

*edit*
all my jars got polyfill filters .. just for completeness of the post.
oh and could the "hot" temp dry them out or something?
i still dont get why anno says not warmer then 27..

I recently had to leave town and we had a heat wave of sorts and my inc temps spiked, at one point as high as 99f, the jars stalled for a couple of days but recovered nicely. I had a friend who had his inc go above 102f and he only lost one jar. You should be ok. it might slow the colonization a little.

Every things Cool.FOAF lets set at room temp. Sometimes getting to 100f in the heat of the day. A few jars have stalled but none lost.

High temperatures can give you bacteria problems.

first of all, it turned out not to be good.
second, all the people saying "you will be fine" arent 100% right.
i HATE posts of people thinking they know answers they dont know themselves
that their words are 100% right ...

My jars actually hit 120 because my fish tank heater broke. They are colonizing like mad though, except for my GTs which never germinated and still aren't showing any signs of colonization.
