Orchid Pot Cakezing?
    #4111179 - 04/29/05 01:10 PM (18 years, 11 months ago)

Hello all. I am a Noob. I am recently into my first grow. Since Inoculation I have had all kinds of ideas. I started with grow wool and dark rye flour (ten half pints). No good. Their fruiting but slowly, however had amazing colonization times. What I really want to get at is my half casing, half cake concoction. The Cakezing. I posted this in Cultivation already, but didn't get much response as far as cultivation teks are concerned. While the grow wool cakes were colonizing I 'nocked up 20 more half pints of whole rye and WBS. I had the idea of using orchid pots (hydroponics) to make a casing that would maintain a lower RH inside a terrarium filled with cakes (98-100%). I used a base layer of perlite for aeration in the pot, two half pints of WBS, and a casing layer of 75% coir 25% verm. I use a Vick's cool mist, with bubble wands buried in perlite pumping Hepa clean air from underneath. Just want honest opinions on the idea. The trip was very pleasant.

Thanks everyone.

Psyilly

There we go. I knew someone would have something like it. Makes sense. What about the production from such a tek? Waste of time? Viable? Anyone? Smart asses?
