third attempt
    #411028 - 10/02/01 07:37 AM (23 years, 8 days ago)

I am attempting to cultivate mushrooms for the third time. The first time I used brown rice flour and organic kitty litter. I guess it was really organic because I manged to cultivate no contams or anything. My second attempt was with a honey water tek and that worked. My third attempt is 24 1/2 pint jars in a cooler with an aquarium heater. I havnt seen any growth yet but it has only been 5 days. I was wondering how long it might take to see some definate sighns of growth and I am unsure of what casing method to use? If you can help please do.
P.S. I am using psilocyben cubensis spores.
thanks,
Dung Lover

I know nothing of the kitty litter ,my friend uses verm an brf occasionally for substrate ,if using spores she said to make a simple glove box the techs are in the archives or use yer oven as a flow hood to innoc, both methods help to keep contams down ,as for casings a simple 50/50peat verm should work for ya just fine its fairly quick an easy to prepare she says an it is often said that the verm doesnt need de contamed but she always pasturises them two together in low boiling water fer an hr. or wets it down real good an nukes it for a 8 to 10 mnts on high lets cool with either method [ya dont wanna kill yer innocu. jars ]squeezes a hand ful of it till water is barely dripping [called field capacity ]then adds to the casing as needed .Mew
