EMERGENCY!! can I use boiling water?
    #410897 - 10/02/01 02:10 AM (23 years, 14 days ago)

Hey,

I was wondering if I can use boiling water instead of distilled water in the perlite or if it will react in some way. I also have access to a water fountain, but I will use either one that is safest.

Just use a enough water to dampen all of the perlite..if it gets too sloppy add more perlite to balance it out. If your really worried about contamination - you can add a little H202 (hydrogen peroxide) to the mix and that will help keep it down. I would however advise not putting the cakes directly in contact with a high concentration h202 mixture as it can damage the mycelium.
