Here are some shots of the cultures. Still interested in trades if anybody has good edibles.

What kind of morel spawn is it? I'm trying to get some black morel spawn going. Just cloned some black morels onto petri plates.

Right on!

My strain is from a deliciosa type, local to California. Some would call it rufo-brunneus. I know they taste good, had a big pot of morel and lamb gravy on last Easter's mashed potatoes
I want to grow the black too, but it's never been done... and I know the yellows have been done, so I figured it's good to start there and go on.

Want to trade cultures? I have several plates in the fridge just waiting... I just started one from last july and it is super vigorous, competing with the hericium for speed of colonization. Jars may be colonized in 2 weeks at this rate (five days old now, shook 'em up yesterday.)

Hello,
If anyone is confused about morel taxonomy take a gander over at www.mushroomexpert.com to get confused even more.
According to the researchers, there are FOURTEEN genetically distinct taxons of Morchella in the United States.
Oh yea, and according to one of them, Ower cultivated M. rufobrunnea. This species is known for inhabiting landscaped areas.
hey bud, I wouldn't mind trading. Sent ya a Pm.

Yeah, I can trade some cultures with you as soon as I get my black morels going (they just started colonizing the plates) & cleaned up.
Thanks
