Pinning Strategy Verification
    #4106481 - 04/28/05 12:30 PM (11 years, 7 months ago)

I was re-reading "Getting the most out of your casings!, A pinning strategy." I am confused about what you do after your first flush. Do you add more casing layer on top or not? The entire top layer of my casing has been colonized but not to the point of overlay. Should I put on a thin casing layer? Or wil the myc then have to expand more energy into colonizing it?

Yeah just patch the spots that get overgrown with overlay or where you pulled the mushies off. What you are shooting for is an exact replication of what your casing looked like at the time of fruiting before the first flush, assuming that was an optimal colonization level.

there was an overabundance of colonization. no overlay though.
