he yall, im just about to set up my terrerium, the only thing that im looking for is some sort of heater for my terrerium,
if some of you guys can give some info and how you heat up your terreriums, tha would be great
i was wondering, those heating pads, for reptiles, that can work, right? if so, i suppose that i would have to put it out of the terrerium underneath, is this right, thanx

:thumbup:good show knob, they work excellent don't they? take that advice, they run between 75 and 85 degrees, somewhere around 10 degrees above ambient room temp most of the time. good for myc growth, but not for fruiting.

if your furiting then you shoulding need heat room temp should be fine if its about 70F i hear of people useing f8t5 lights for fruiting and just leaving it on 4-8 hrs a day and that brings the temp up a bit

i would reccomend a higher watt heater than 50 personally.
you will have a large variance in temperature.

also, i would reccomend NO GLASS.
I had gone through two in a month

Edit: i didn't notice you were talking about a terrarium.
yeah, you don't need one.

Heating pads are great for starting fires for the careless. I have used them for years and years for other purposes than shrooming, but they indeed do work. As for your suggestion I am sure to agree with you that they probably are safer for a TiT procedure.

an electric blanket is bigger, cheaper and more powerful than a seedling heating mat. Put a blanket on top to buffer the heat. It can also be used to heat your bed!

How do you place this acquarium heater ? do you put it in a small jar with water in your terrarium ?

pour kerosene into it and set it afire. should heat it up.

or a submersible heater, but dont use it in water, it just gets funky. use fine sand. it conducts the heat less effectively but it has larger density, so it keeps the temperature more stable.
