Hey how are you all.
I have been smoking for almost 6 years almost everyday with few days of not smoking. I have to quit. It is hard for me. It is not a matter of switching to a milder strain or something this time... I really would like to quit becuase of anxiety and other factors in my life like panic attacks which get much worse when I smoke, which when i have herb is everyday. Any tips?
Does it get easier, what about cravings for chronic?
Have you done it, are you glad you did?
Looking forward to insomnia and some irritability...
I know its "only weed" but this is the ONE thing that im having a hard time facing. Left ciggs behind years ago as well as some other things which seem to give others fits. I will smoke once in a while but please give me some motivation on quitting this... thanks guys... (move this post to "General Questions" please if you see fit mods.)

I think you'll be much happier with yourself in the end if you simply make this a matter of willpower, without trying to trick yourself too much. That was hard for me, and my break was only a month long, but really, even just 2 weeks into I felt really happy with myself for simply not doing it, and not doing it when anyone else around me had it. If I were you I would take a long break, while SLIGHTLY upping my alcohol intake, especially when people around me are smoking. Then when you finally do smoke again you'll get crazily high, and at that point it's up to you to face your willpower again and decide not to do it.
Go out to nice places in the sunlight and listen to your favorite stoner albums. Watch how they line up with everything, even though you're not "high" anymore...cause you're still high. Just think about it and realize what you use the drug for is a high of the mind, and that it's ENTIRELY possible to carry that away from it without ever looking back at the drug itself.

If you've quit cigarettes, you can quit weed.
Just wait until the weekend if you have a job, don't pickup a new bag, and live thru the one restless night. Take some benadryl or a sleeping pill.
Honestly man, drinking water and exercising will make this a lot less painful. IMO it's a very easy thing to do; but am no way putting you down about it. Multi-vitamins may also help.

"Withdrawls" (if you can call them that) only last for a day or two. So, ya. What they said. Then you might be happy, with a clear head, and all. I know I feel wonderful after a few days of non-haze. The cravings still come, but they will be few and far between, and easy to combat.
Hey. Good luck.

I quit, by necessity. I'm broke and I don't know any dealers anymore. I also broke my cell phone so I lost their numbers, and I couldn't call them if I wanted to. Also, they don't sell, and I'm broke. So, yea.

ya i used to be a daily smoker and quit.. its not that hard except for first couple weeks. harder part is to not smoke if your hangin around with friends that smoke all the time.. it took some getting used to but was certainly worth it. now i smoke only every now n then in special occasions

Yea Not being high is kind of interesting. In the way that falling on the ice is interesting. Or the way that breaking a bone is interesting.

I tried quitting many o'times it just doesn't work. Reality seems to wind down to an everlasting crawl. I have interest in nothing. Seems like existence only entails waiting for time to pass.

Come on man, its not crack or heroin. Ive been smoking everyday too, mostly at night and I stop for 2-3 weeks cold turkey every once in a while, just for the fun of appreciating it when Ill smoke again after the break.
willpower is your friend here. Are you a pussy or what? Just stop smoking it. Hell if you have some good reasons to stop smoking it, that seems like it would be easy to do. The first day or 2 is the ''hardest'' after theres no problem, really.

I really feel like the key is doing things you would normally get stoned to do (I guess for some people that's EVERYTHING) and learning to enjoy them, especially music and film.
