How do they do it ?

It is impossible to feel anything except happiness whilst listening to GD.

Great Music.

To this day I still haven't listened to the Grateful Dead except when hearing it a couple of other places, and then not really listening to it, ya know? I have Without a Net, I borrowed it from a friend, but still haven't gotten around to it.

And so here and now I swear, that if I make it to the NE2K5 gathering, I will be de-dead-virginized.

I'm not a huge fan but The Golden Road is a great example of the positive nature of the dead.

I think it is Jerry's guitar. It just takes over and makes you feel like everything is good. I never trip any more without listening to their music. It was the entire reason for how and why they performed but while also appealing to people that aren't' high. Amazing!

You need to listen to some of their live stuff.....that's where it's at. There are space jams from the 60s and 70s that make you question your sanity while you're sober..

^GDs' only number one hit, not that it matters.
That one song on AOXOMOXOA or whatever that album is called about dead babies or something isn't so cheery, but yeah generally.

the only GD song that ever gets played on the radio is touch of grey, and it was released in the late 80's. 20 years after the grateful dead had been formed.

If you guys have not already, you should check out db.etree.org they have pretty much any jamband's music all archived and in chronological order, literally thousands of shows from the Grateful Dead to String Cheese to Keller Williams to Railroad Earth basically anyone you can think of.

I hope The Dead tours this summer. I'm 21, and have never been to a Dead concert. If they do I'm definitely going, I'm just not sure if I'll be taking any drugs or not before/during the concert.

Anyway, what's your favorite album from the Dead? To me it's a tie between Wake of the Flood & Workingman's Dead.

The Dead might play a few shows this summer.  Phil & Friends will almost for sure do a fall tour (according to what Phil had been saying on his recent book-signing tour) and I bet The Dead will do a New Years show in which case I would for sure travel to California or wherever to see, mark my words.
