Pinched caps.... are these mutants?
    #4104647 - 04/27/05 10:40 PM (11 years, 7 months ago)

What causes this? I have some other mushies in the same chamber that look just fine, and a few others that have split caps. These are the only two that look pinched like this.

97-99% RH
67F-80F
BRF Cakes, dunked & rolled
2nd flush

maybe lysol involved during their pinning?

I did clean the chamber initially with lysol, and I did get a few mutants on the first flush. But they didn't look quite like this. they were either big fat asses with tiny caps (or no caps at all), or they grew with the stems all curved.

Maybe a combination of high humidity and the possiblity of lysol contamination?

High humidity shouldn't cause your mushrooms to do this. It almost looks like they're dehydrated. But you say that your humididty is at 90-99??? My guess would be lysol is your main factor in this. Also could be genetics, have you grown this particular strain in the past?

<strike>what flush number is this? I've known shrooms to get more and more twisted and effed-up after each flush.</strike>

oh sorry, I just re-read your post. um what did the first flush look like?

97%-99% humidity.  I havn't grown this strain before.  I havn't grown any strains before, this is my first try.  :muppet:
