i'm am having trouble finding vermiculite in my town... i was wondering if theres anything else i can use instead???

try Franks nersery, if u have one there or try wal mart, well i came there and they said they had it, but in that section was only one bag of perlite, so she said they are just out of stock, so just try wal mart and franks, if u cant em there, try other stores.

i've tried everywhere i know of.. i tried wal-mart, they didn't have it in stock, i tried atwoods and a plant nersery and i just can't find any

I also had a very hard time finding vermiculite it seems that they stop selling it as it gets colder. We have AGWAY here and I found 1 bag left there, and then I went into another looking for a spary bottle and that store also had 1 bag left so I snatched it up......... its definately rather hard to find, you can ask them if you can order it directly and I believe they will.

I buy mine at the grocery store (shop rite) in the gardening section. Give that a try. Good Luck!

Like I've said before, some stores sell it as ash decoration (it burns to ash or something). I asked for that and got some. Just make sure it's verm. Good luck.

In my town the Wallmart didnt have any vermiculite either. Shit the lady in the nusery department even looked at me like I was crazy and asked "what is it"??? Shesh!! I finally found a bag at a Lowes Hardware store. There know for hardware but the one in my town also has a large nusery. Good luck!

I've looked at Wal-Mart and KMart before and never had any luck there. Most part-time, non-gardening people don't know what it is.... The only place I've been able to find is at our Earl May Garden Center. Except tonite I went in and they were OUT! They were out of 50/50 mix, too..... A rather disappointing shopping trip tonite. The lady told me to come back on Wednesday after their truck gets in.

I didn't think about Lowe's... I need to go there and get some things anyway.

ACE hardware has it. check in your phone book for a local hydroponics shop- they have it too. you can order it from vendors here as well, dimitri211, myco-supply and captn max (i believe) all have it. hydro shops online should as well.
