I am wondering whom here has attempted to grow these? and what substrate did you use? and what you used in the chamber... dung? perlite?

I've grown them. I simply used BRF and Verm. They colonized completely in 8 days. I cased all of them with 50/50,(perlite terarium) and they are awesome ( at least I think so) They are a little fat a short but its ok. Try the Lipa yai's I've been hearing great things, they grow taller that the koh samui's.

My friend grew the cakes with birdseed, then cased the cakes with homemade compost and wheatstraw. Then put a thin layer of dry verm on top. Her growing chamber consisted of a large rubbermaid container with 2 inches of damp perlite in the bottom. She fanned the chamber twice daily and kept a growing light on them 12 hours a day. Very nice and thick mushroom. Very visual as well. And it has nice multiple flushes.:)bluhoney
