Well i was just about to set up my terrarium with a humidifier but one question. I need to know whether to get a cool mist or warm mist humidfier? Could I get away with a warm mist? I got one of those and I'd rather not have to run out and spend cash on a new one. Thanks for replies.

Can i ask why you would use a cool mist as opposed to a warm mist? Is it because the warm mist would make it too hot? And could anyone suggest a decent and affordable humidifier that i could get at a local store? Thanks.

LOL! Once again! Even though I have yet to grow my own ( should be buying spores in the next few days, and I would like to make some freinds here! :0) I think the answer is a resounding... NO!! Do not use a warm mist humidifier! And if you do, it needs to be altered so the mist is NOT warm. From my understanding the heat can kill the shrooms. I found a website that had a special link for modifying humidifiers that blow warm mist, but I can't seem to find it. If you do some serious reading you will discover that very few, IF ANY shroom growers have had success using warm mist. I have been heavily researching this subject as well as many others and heat in the humidifier is a big no-no. But! LOL! What do I know!? * grin * Prolly more than you think! Anyway! Good luck, I hope you get a few more professional replies than mine before you make a decision and good luck!!!

hey... try ebay... what you want is a cool mist humidifier....
also, unless you seal it, you will have a mess of water around.... seal it with silicone....
He somehow manages to breathe in his sepia, wounded-tea, liquid ambiance suspension.

Aight cool...thanks for the info Newbie and hongus :D. So yeah i dont want to order off ebay but ill look around at various stores around here for it. Also....does it matter how much output it has? Should i get one for a large room or a smaller room (about how many sq ft?) Again...thanks guys.

Dude, check out the Pf Tek at Fanaticus.
Cause, from what I understand you will be needing to route the humidifier thru a couple of two liter bottles. when the last bottle in the chain is a FAINT fog, you are ready to plug into your terrarium. I suggest reading up more on the use of humidifiers before you jump in.
