I think I'm going to force myself to start biking to the library and hang out there for a bit and read. I've been struggling with life lately, maybe some inspirational books would be good?
what are some of the good books out there?

I don't know of any inspirational books but I recommend the following
Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton anything by Arthur C. Clarke, especially the 2001/2010 A Space Odyssey books anything by Kurt Vonnegut, especially Breakfast of Champions One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey anything by Lewis Carroll (the guy who wrote Alices Adventures in Wonderland) Brain Droppings by George Carlin
Just go there and browse, I'm sure you'll find something of interest.

The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler
Still Life With Woodpecker by Tom Robbins
The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway

Try "Requiem for a Dream". It usually gets people smiling.

Haruki Murakami is the man. I highly recommend Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World

And as for Haruki, yeah he truly is the man. I just read Underground: The Tokyo Gas Attack and the Japanese Psyche, his nonfiction work, but his fiction is fucking amazing. Hard-Boiled.... and also The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle are great, trippy.

I'm an English major...it's been my job to read for four years. Time for me to take a break.
