cuttings of what?

most plants will root without the application of a hormone. of course, a little help isn't a bad thing.

kittens usually root fairly easily in a glass of spring water perched on a windowsill or under a flouro.

mary is very rot resistant.. the way to make hemp is to soak hemp stalks in water for probably weeks.. its basically impssible to make it rot. yet anoher reason why its perfect for paper and housing where wood crumbles and is treated with yucky chemicals

i know what you're talking about, mr. smokey mcsheik.

well, i've never used rockwool. i did want to at one time, but couldn't find it around here. after days in the water, roots will begin to show. some dude used to transfer cuttings to jiffy mix in those tall plastic 6 pks when those roots appear. the plugs can easily be transferred when the roots grow out the bottom.

everybody seems to do it a bit differently, so i'm sure you'll get a lot of good methods to choose from.

if your just f'n around, use water and wait a while.....

but if your looking for high success rate and fast turn around, then use a hormone....

i have been using the same little jar of rooting hormone for about three years, in other word a little goes a long, long way. so a 15 dollar investment for years of fast rooting.

i use Coarse Vermiculite in a small plastic cup, the cutting just dusted with powdered hormone and I make " Dutch " cuts on the leaves. A Dutch cut is the removal of the ends of the leaves, this lessens the amount of material the cutting is trying to sustain, therefore making the cutting send out root more efficiently.

I hand spray with a gentle mist until the Verm. soaks up enough water to stay moist until the next spray. which could be a few minutes to a few hours, depending on evaporation rates and such.

I also use CO2 and fans to make a windy carbon dioxide rich environment, the wind makes the stalks and roots strong, as does the CO2, but the CO2 makes the growth rate unreal!!

I get inch long roots in THREE DAYS!!!!  , at four days the cuttings can be transplanted to another medium and they can go under the big lights.

obviously your not gunna run out and get a CO2 generator, but do the same without CO2 and it will just add a few days to the process.
:sun:
