Recommended legal plants for Arizona growing?
    #4098064 - 04/26/05 08:44 AM (11 years, 7 months ago)

Specifically, active legal plants that are growable in a warm, normally arid climate.

Another question is about the Viridis plant and Caapi vines viability in this climate.

I doubt Banisteriopsis spp. or Psychotria spp. will naturalize in your enviroment, however they can be grown inside. Take into account these two genus of plants come from tropical and subtropical regions, marked by high humidity. This a very different ecosystem than Arizona. But there are a number of plants you could grow still...

Of course Trichocereus spp. (San Pedro cactus, Peruvian Torch) Probably Syrian Rue, Khat, Datura spp., ... a number of other species could be cultivated in a pond, such as Blue lotus, Arundo dunax and maybe, given part shade Phalaris spp. I didn't mention the other Solanacaea's because I don't think you'd want them (Datura relatives). If you're looking for Ayahuasca analogs, Phalaris spp. have been recorded with very high quantaties of indolic alkaloids (DMT, supposedly 5-mEo-DMT), Syrian Rue contains the beta-carbolines Harman and Harmaline, if I remember correctly. This should present you with the crude ingredients. I didn't tell ya shit, though.
