Tibetan Prayers Offering Guidance Away from Fear/Terror
    #4090196 - 04/23/05 10:50 PM (18 years, 11 months ago)

Many read the tibetan book of the dead in an effort to help guide themselves through spiritual journeys. I'll post just a few prayers I believe should be useful for certain certain circumstances. If the response if good I will post more.
These prayers should ideally be memorized prior to your spritual journey. Repeat them over and over as a mantra until your goal is attained.
Prayer to deal with a state of fear, or terror:

"Awaken! Now when the reality between dawns is upon me,
I will let go of the hallucinations of instinctive terror,
Enter the recognition of all objects as my mind's own visons,
Understand this as the pattern of perception in the Between,
Come to this moment, arrived at this most critical cessation,
I will not fear my own visions of deities mild and fierce!"

{This first is short and easy to memorize, it will work extremely well if you chant it with conviction and understanding. The "between" is the world between our own physical realm and the spirit world. A deep immersion within it can be beautifully enlightening, but at times quite frightening. Traveling between the two worlds and gaining knoweledge from that journey should be your ultimate goal.}

A second prayer to fight fear and terror:

"Awaken, noble one!
At this time when your mind and body are parting ways,
pure reality manifests in subtle, dazzling visons,
vividly experienced, naturally frightening and worrisome,
shimmering like a mirage on the plains in autumn.
Do not fear them! Do not be terrified! Do not panic!
You have what is called a 'mental body,'
not a material, flesh, and blood body.
Thus, whatever sounds, lights, and rays may come near you
They cannot hurt you!
It is enough just for you to recognize them as your own perceptions,
Understand that this is the Between."

If people find these prayers useful I will post more pertaining to this subject and many more.

--------------------
"There is a world beyond ours, a world that is far away, nearby, and invisible. And there is where God lives, where the dead live, the spirits and the saints, a world where everything has already happened and everything is known. That world talks. It has a language of its own. I report what it says. The sacred mushroom takes me by the hand and brings me to the world where everything is known. It is they, the sacred mushrooms, that speak in a way I can understand. I ask them and they answer me. When I return from the trip that I have taken with them, I tell what they have told me and what they have shown me."

i think those prayers are awesome i'ld definately love to hear more from you. i wanna memorize that 1st one, i could see how that could work for me. what others do you have? i never read that one but you've peaked my interest. my friend found a spell for astral projection in the egyptian book of the dead. he said on 2 different occasions upon reciting the prayer he found himself lucidly caught in some strange suspended state upon falling asleep. he found it unerving. but ild still like to try that 1 out.

What do you think about the Seven Lined Prayer? Personally that and the Vajra guru mantra have always helped me overcome fear, almost as good as merely letting it release itself.

Just let everything flow, just flow right to the center of everything. You gotta turn off your mind and relax, and then just float downstream...
