Drying problem
    #4095874 - 04/25/05 06:02 PM (11 years, 10 months ago)

When i dry my shrooms in a desiccant chamber, they always get really really dry, like crispy. however, i want them to gain the consistentcy of leather, like what ive found when i used to buy them. how do i keep them from drying out too much? does anyone have a idea of how long they need to be in the chamber to only dry out about 50%? i usually let them dry over night to achieve the complete dryness.

If they were leathery it is probably because they were incorrectly dryed, or possibly dryed fully but absorbed some moisture in transit before you got a hold of them.

Anyway if you really want that you could just leave them out for a while.

Drying shrooms to the consistency of leather is a fairly common practice with dealers.  I can see this serving two purposes: 1) Don't have to spend as much time drying 2) the shrooms weigh more, so you get more money selling them... GL bro, but don't go dealin em, you'll only get yourself in trouble :stoned:

60 a quarter isn't really that bad.  Its a little over priced but not outrageously.  Although they weren't even dried all the way, so yea I guess I would agree thats pretty bad lol... GL bro :stoned:

I'm in the midwest. I'm not aware of them growing naturally around here, but they probably do. At any rate, they are hard to find and cost a lot because of that.

if i were to sell them, i would sell them based on psilo content and not weight. ive bought 3 caps that were split between 3 people and they were super potent, certainly not representative of weight. This isnt weed or lsd after all.

maybe a dehydrator would serve my purposes better. desiccant might be overkill.

 riight, an honest dealer..... I've met plenty of people in the business of fungus and I've never, NEVER had anyone sell by potency.
