grey shrooms

Hey guys, any of you know about a grey mushrooms that grows here in Ga. I found a bunch in a compost pile. Slender white stalk, light grey to darker grey cap. Very delicate and stains your hands blue/black.

sounds like an inky cap (coprinus species), most likely. almost definately. they arent active, and i definately wouldnt eat one. they got the term inky caps cause they kind-of melt into a liquidy substance, which slightly resembles ink. From an article I once read, when ink was scarce they used coprinus species as a substitute  :wink: "they" meaning the midgets who live under my bed of course.
