pasteurization?

Hello, I am on my way to obtaining a pure strain of eq on agar.

After that i plan on inoculating quart jars or rye.

Then on to straw/ wormcastings.

my question is. Can I soak straw for a couple of hours then drain and mix with moist castings cover w/foil and then pasteurize at 170* in the oven for 1:30 then uncover and mist to proper moisture then spawn with rye.

Will this work? or is there a better way and also what proportions do i mix the two.

you can put the straw and the castings in a pillow case, then you can heat this in a large pan of h2o @ 180deg you only need to keep in the h2o for .5 hr. after this hang the pillow case up in the shower to dry for a night. doing this you dont have to mist the preperation at the end of pasturization. i would mix half and half. but yes the way that you have outlined would work as well.
