The Beauty in the Crack
    #4090509 - 04/24/05 02:43 AM (12 years, 5 months ago)

As I was strolling down the concrete jungle today, I walked past something I noticed on the ground... and paused for a second and walked back to look at it again.

I looked at it, and thought to myself "That is a really beautiful sight..."

I've always thought that the image of a flower or plant growing through a crack of concrete to survive was one of the most beautiful pictures ever, in a symbolical way.

So of course, I had to take a picture with my trusty camera phone.

And it even got free handicapped parking. The lucky plant.

That is awesome D3WD, i still marvel myself at how a few blades of grass have the strength/yearning for the sunlight to bust through ashphalt. I mean like think of it, just the pure mechanics of such an occurance, it totally transcends any known physical laws

I don't think the plant grows through the cement, but rather a seed falls into a crack and germinates.

Its how the earth became how it is. To think in the begining it was alll rock.. Plants and lichens stated to grow breaking the rock into chunks turning it to gravel with each season. Every winter brought a new crack and a new foothold for a plant. The liches etched away at the surfaces. Then The organic plant matter and the rock formed dirt and so the stories go right on into the suburban jungles of ashphalt. When we die and all of our society is nuthing but crumbeling towars of our communities, plants and cochroaches will indeed inhabit this place bringing it back and reclaiming ................

That is an interesting theory as well man. i duno, it always looked/looks to me that the living plant organism is breaking through a supposedly implacable physical barrier, but perhaps it just pleases me to believe this? And Sheik: That was deep man, we gotta get you a modship if only for a month till Kaiowas returns
