What do mushrooms do to dogs?
    #4088781 - 04/23/05 04:48 PM (12 years, 3 days ago)

My friend's dog is acting funny... she seems to be chasing things that aren't there, isn't eating, and she's drooling profusely...

my friend said he may have dropped some shrooms on the floor and forgot to pick them up... he wants to know is his dog tripping or is she sick from something... he doesn't want to go to the vet if the dog is ok, but he's worried it might be something else entirely...

i don't know what to tell him, i've never heard of a dog eating mushrooms before

ive considered it with my dog, but giving a dog mushrooms is a bad thing. Dogs arent even supposed to eat bananas or grapes much less mushrooms. On top of that, if you've ever shown a mushroom to a dog, they wont eat it. thats usually a sign that their not supposed to. I would call the vet and tell em that you think you dog might have eaten a poisionous mushroom and tell em the symptoms.

I'm sorry, I'm a serious dog lover. I think that is VERY cruel to give shrooms to animals. Yea sure I'll get my dog high, what I do is take a big hit and blow it into his face, if he backs up, I don't give it any... as for a couple of idiot friends I have they'll take a big rip and grab the cat/dog mouth and force it into them. I punched an idiot who did that. Fuckin a, that image is stamped into my head.

i have a dog thats been having some eye problems lately cause he ate some drywall when my parents were doing construction. I know shrooms strengthens eyesight, does anyone know if the shroom strengthening eyesight might be more longterm? I would love to help him regain his vision.

I'm sorry, I see that as a double standard. You can't tell if an animal appreciates the consequences either way. I like getting high, But I don't like having smoke blown in my face... That's hardly a clear indicator that your dog wants to be high or not.
