 why I don't like alcohol

* There are exceptions to everything
- it tastes bad (newcastle is good, good rum is ok, good beer is good, red wine is good)
gin tastes like fermented CP, or nail polish remover or something.
most american beer tastes like watered down pisswater
- it makes me very sick (in excess)
- when I get very sick, I get hangovers (suck)
- my body does not like it when I drink, at all
- people do stupid things on alcohol, some of them use being drunk as an excuse to do stupid things as if it was the alcohol that did it and not them. personal responsibility goes flying out the window 80% of the time.
- my uncle was a hardcore alcoholic. I watched him go from 40 year old man to 6 year old boy pissing himself and embarassing everyone in 8 beers. (I hear the longer you are an alcoholic the less it takes you to get wasted) another uncle died at the age of 24 from drunk driving. One of my friends in highschool had liver failure at the age of 19 from drinking so much. My grandfather used to beat my mother after he drank.
- drunks can be cruel and insensitive. Some of them can be funny.
- watching someone slowly kill themselves with alcohol sucks.
- alcohol is legal and pot is not
thus, I drink very rarely. and in extreme moderation.

While I do enjoy the euphoric effects of alcohol, I cannot help but feel like a complete dumbass when drunk.

I much prefer the euphoric effects of say... opium, or mdma, or our good friend cannabis.

Opium is good fun... but I quit after reading Naked Lunch. Burroughs surrealistic nonsense scared me away from narcotics.

Well I don't drink too often, generally about 1 or 2 nights a month, but I do enjoy drinking and I do enjoy being drunk.

I hear ya mang. I've been a witness to a lot of really bad nasty assed stuff with people drinking. Ultimately booze(imo) only brings out what is there to begin with. A person won't get violent on alcohol unless the hate/anger is already there. It's a pretty good barometer on what an in individual needs to work on to make themselves a better person

Yeah I certainly agree
As with all things human, people WILL find a way to abuse it. With alchol being the strongest of the legally-sanctioned drugs, and it being used for so many thousands of years in the first place, it's no surprise that alcoholism is a major problem in our world.

Drinking in moderation is key. I'm not a big alcohol fan myself. I'd prefer ganja over alcohol anyday.

Hmmm..
Alcohol effects people differently, as do all drugs.
I smoked cannabis daily for years but can't smoke it anymore due to severe negative effects (paranoia, lack of motivation, depression etc etc etc..)
I like the effect alcohol has on me. I become more relaxed and definitely more social. 
I simply don't understand people that get obnoxious and violent from drinking the stuff.
I love mdma BTW but only in extreme moderation, I'm such a lightweight with that stuff!

Nor do i my friend, i guess the worst behavioral trait that comes out in me if i am out in public is that i become overly friendly

I hardly ever drink (last time I drank was 6 months ago) but I do enjoy it. I hate the hangover the next day though. I also do not understand why people get violent from drinking alcohol. Alcohol just makes me extremely happy and friendly.

I am not sure if daily drinking counts as 'abuse'. I drink beer, every day almost, but I never get fucked up to the point of getting sick and regretting it.
Beer or a glass of wine just relaxes me and helps me sleep better. Perhaps drinking every day may lead to more serious drinking, but for now I can control it.
Sometimes I will down a 40 ounce but that is rare.
I think my max for beer is like 60 ounces in a couple hours and I will be way too drunk for my liking.

Lots of Docs say that a glass of wine or a beer a day is actually good for you, as long as you can keep it in moderation it's a pretty healthy thing to do.

Agreed.
From what the scientists say, alcohol, drank daily in moderation, is good for the heart, circulation and also helps prevent Alzheimer's.

ive had my days with alcohol....mastly through right after highschool. never really got inot the getting drunk thing untill after i graduated, which was kinda cool i guess. i dont know, i think i just grew out of it. waking up the next day not knowing what i did or how i got home has just kinda lost its appeal. i do still like to drink however, but now its more of a 3 or 4 beer kinda thing.....just enough to feel the buzz comming on. i hate myself the next day if i go over that amount.

I really enjoy a good brew at night, with some bud makes it all right.
Alcohol is a two sided coin, soo good, and soo evil. So many lives lost, and so much inspiration throughout the ages.
