San Peruvian picture(s) & moral
    #4084496 - 04/22/05 10:07 AM (18 years, 11 months ago)

This one I grew from seed & I belive it to be about 5 years old.
The story of it was that I grew a batch of 30 san pedros and the one
that was the slowest growing I gave to my mother.
Soon after that I moved to my gf. After a few months we broke
up and I moved back home again.
I belive she killed all my cactuses including a few peyotes,
so this slow thing is what's left of that grow

The moral of the story is that it can be alright to give even
a decent cactii to your ol' mother

**EDIT** not a pedro but a peruvian!

Beautiful cactus man, can't wait to grow some from seed on my own (have a few seedlings right now, hope they make it). My mother doesn't even believe me that there's mescaline in my San Pedro, she thinks only peyote contains mescaline, haha.

maybe your GF ate all your peyote. its extremely hard to kill a cacti you know. yeah, if your going to give psychoactive plants to someone for safe keeping, give it to someone who doesnt know its psychoactive.

Actually supra, you're right. That doesn't look much like a pedro. I figured it just differed a lot from mine.

Another pic taken from the top.
The sun here is pretty poor, maybe that can change the appereance of the cactuses?

This cactii looked just like  these ones when young.
On this pic the two left rows (big ones) are the Peru and the smaller ones the Pedros.

Maybe it's a Peruvianus then? Have a faint memory of it being the Pedro but I can be wrong

Here's some more fresher pics of the little ones.
The two rows with tall cactii are the Peruvianus and the other two
are the Pedro (according to the reliable vendor I got the seeds from!).
The white pots are Peruvianus.

There are no Pedros in that picture... it looks like you have a Peruvian. Did you order both Pedro and Torch seeds to begin with, or were they all labelled for Pedro?

Yes I got them both. I guess it's a Peruvian then. Thanks for the identification!

Are you sure?  The two rows wish I supposed was Pedro:s are growing
slower than the other two rows, and pedro:s are supposed to be slower
than the peruvian.

That was a nice picture by psilly! To me it looks like it gets the
sun it deserves and therefor a slight difference in looks, but
besides that I cant realy tell no difference

Oh I guess I have to face it then :crazy2:

So are there several strains of the Peruvian hence the slower growth & difference in appereance?

Thats them seeds I grew, #1 was supposed to be the San Pedro & #2 the Peruvian.

Arp, those pictures look awesome, you must have a high quality digital cam. The colors just look amazing, and I'm pretty sure I'm sober right now.

Ok so a year they get that big, wow. Did you have one growing in a pot at first or did you transplant them?

The green tray with the small pots is what I have used from the beginning.
I took the biggest three and transplanted them in the white pots but I'll get decent pots for them all
