 Amsterdam question

Hi,
I'm sure plenty of you have been to Amsterdam, and I had a couple of questions. Firstly, are their coffeeshops outside of the red light district? I'm going with my girlfriend, and the red light district seems really seedy, and I don't think either of us want to be around tons of hookers and pornography. Also, whereabouts is the Van Gogh museum located? Any help would be greatly appreciated. What part of Amsterdam would you recommend staying in, or perhaps a specific hotel/hostel?

Well, I don't know where the Van Gogh museum is, but I know that the red light district is NOT the only place in Amsterdam with coffeeshops. Far, far from it. Don't even worry about that.
Others here will have more erudite knowledge of hostel/hotel whereabouts.

The Van Gogh museum is in southern Amsterdam, near Vondel Park.
I seriously suggest going to the red light district. It's a very interesting place. You'll never see anywhere else like it.
I don't recommend staying in any hotel that doesn't have a safe in the room. The redlight is kind of in the north east part, so don't book any hotels up there.

yeah more outside then inside. i would go to da dampkring blue bird cum laude(best hash deal) and fantaseeds and say high to fat ass thats what the owner calls him grows vegan and his herb is the shit. dutch flowers has high grade probably up there or suprasing those i mentioned but the fucks that were there when i was were some nazi mother fuckers so beware and expect rude treatment. katsu is great from what i hear but its on the outskirts. for environment easytimes cafe off of princengraght by da damp square has lots of reggae there shit is reg but environment kicks ass. also hit up some smart shops for shrooms. watch out crossing the street though.

Okay, I found a hostel right by the van gogh museum, which is the primary thing I wish to see, but I had another question, and that is how hard is it to travel within amsterdam? Do they have a subway system or something similar that is pretty expensive/cost effective? Any more help would greatly appreciated.

oh yeah maids expect a tip so if you dont let them clean your room they can be very rude took me three days of doors slaming so hard opened the tiny ass patio doors open. the best is open the windows and throw some cheap hash out it and take bets on who picks it up.

One more question, are their coffee shops near the van gogh museum? I want to get high as hell and then go there. I haven't smoked in 2 months now, and I don't plan on smoking until arrive there on may ninth  .

gray area is good to but i think its a gay coffe shop not that that should matter but im trying to list those that arent tipically tourist points like green house sensi seeds etc. Betty boop does great deals on hash also. seeds go to hemp works and tell him "james " says high tell him the guy with the funny hair do not that his isnt funnier and changes day to day.

yeah maids were rude as shit i stay on princengraght across from mc donalds next to ben & jerry's(how convinent) and some pizza place next to e z times. wouldnt let them clean the room because one it was so early and 2 herb is tolerated not legal.

also that hotel is a rip off cost me 200 us a night and barbuzon(spelled phoneticly )palace, is much nicer and almost 1/2 the price

screw the museum. get blazed and go to vondel park. that place is amazing. i would give the red light district a try though, its halarious seeing a bunch of hookers standing in these windowed booths talking to greasy eurotrash.
coffeshops in ams? theirs like one on every block. theres even a rastafarian one along one of the promendades, near the road with all the restaurants.
hostels are pricy, but how else do you plan on staying in ams? i never got any angry maids or any maids for that matter, but it sure does suck not having any air conditioning.
P.S. good luck finding hash, i had to ask around at a few coffee shops to find it, but i was so blazed that when i got there, the lady asks me, "do you want the block or the cigarette", i said the cigarette not knowing what exactly she was referring to ( maybe weed laced with hash, that would make sense at least), but it turned out to be hash laced tobacco which i cant smoke, so it was kind of a letdown as i had to leave the next day. Next time i will do hash.

yeah out my hotel balcony saw some americans get in a fight all of a sudden rastas came out of nowhere and pulled them apart at 3:00am funny as hell made you wonder who was going to get there ass beat.

abermelin u said u had a hard time findin hash in amsterdam? where the hell were u there was so much i was throwing it in the street taking bets as a joke who would pick it up. i dont think you have been to amsterdam if u had a hard time findin hash. it is as abundent if not more then weed. i have no clue what u are talking about.

I recommend Bobs youth hostel. and yes there are coffee shops everywhere. Try finding the grey area. it sells some fine double bubblegum and the guy there is really psychedelic other than that try to go for the local coffee shops rather than the ones that attract tourists. have fun and stay safe.
Oh and yes Vondelpark is definetly amazing. rent a bike, pick up some shrooms and weed, go and enjoy.
