Ok this is technically a fan unit but when place on its side it has an outlet face of 23 5/8" x 47 5/8" i believe and an average 90 CFM. Plus it has 99.99% at .3 microns. SO i figure lay it on its side and you got yourself one sweet flow hood. I am asking about pricing right now and will post. But 100 buck for this would be sweet : )

damn, well i got some emails into some places asking about differen't hood and of course this one. Does anyone sell one for 200 or less? or will i have to build one. I am really worried about getting my CFM while buying the squirrel blower off ebay because i can never tell what the CFM will be after adding a filter.....

Housing, calibrated fan built in & rheostat control $100 off ebay.
Hepa Filters (off eBay), paneling (skin), legs (w/housing) totaled about $250 & labor of love.

Very effective work-station.

also when searching for hepa filters on ebay what is the best way to word it. I usually get like 300 results with most of them being the units themselves

The unit in the first post will not be an effective flow hood. The flow of that thing is only 90 cfm. About 100cfm per square foot is recomended. You need that much airflow to prevent particles from being sucked into the airstream downwind of the filter.
That unit would make a great general air cleaner however, just not a LAMINAR FLOW hood. And new they are way more than $200.
