ohhhh... ok i got it...

i had to re-read what he wrote..
the expanded translation:

"I illegally downloaded several thousand major motion pictures and tried to burn them to dvd so I could sell them to people. I had to convert them from *.mpeg to *.avi so they would fit on a 4.7 gigabyte dvd+r. I didn't export the file from Pinnacle Studio just right and now the video is all green...  why?"

if you live in ntsc land, and your video format is PAL, than that will happen, or it wont play at all.. computers will usualy play both formats with no back sas

use dvd shrink and dvd decrypter. a friend told me those were good programs for backing up dvd's

didnt i tell you to just burn them as svcd or vcds using nero .  Open up nero drag n drop your video vile to svcd or vcd.  Let it encode and say go.  If its too big for one disk use virtual dub(best avi editor to shorten).

Dont waste your time with doing dvd encoding and authoring unless you are starting with dvd quality stuff.  Sounds like the video stream was no encoded right or authoring problem tho.

read this site.

dvdrhelp.com

It seriously is a waste of a lot of time to try and make dvds from non dvd quality stuff. SVCDs are the way to go and nero will handle it all you drag and drop and hit burn.
