Ultrasonic runtimes
    #4082177 - 04/21/05 06:59 PM (12 years, 6 months ago)

I just got my holmes ultrasonic for my fruiting chamber. I was wondering if i could put it on low and just run it all the time. If you believe i need a timer... what is a good on/off split? How long should i run it for?

i run mine for 10min ever 2 hours. If you left it on all the time you'd swamp the chamber

I was thinking if i elevated the cakes on a cookie rack or something... i could put the humidifier on low and leave it on all the time... so if water collects on the bottom it wont swamp them.

There's definitely no use in always having the ultrasonic on. Mine stays at 95%Rh with 2hrs on 10min off.
I think if you leave it on all the time it will cause overlay.

dont leave it on all the time. Your ultra sonic will prbly break in just two weeks. and it would just not be smart. It would make too much humidity and it would litterally rain in your chamber. 10 minutes on(LOW setting) 3 hours off is still a little much for my application.

it depends on your chamber i had a rubber maid 30 gallon and ran my ultrasonic 15 mins every 2 hours with a hole in the bottom so water will drain out and the cakes on a mesh wire 1/2 inch from the bottom so the cakes wont sit in the water forming on the bottom and fanned {well tryed to fan} atleast 3 times a day and my cakes boomed like a mother fucker and i also did the drinking straw tek after i dunked for 12 hours and rolled in verm and double end cased then i inserted the half cut {big straws} in the center of the cake, this eleminates the dunking in between flushes, off 11 1/2 pint cakes i got 3 and 1/4 ozs from 3 flushes.

That is perfect. its how i used to do it. IF you have to you can run the mist through a 2 liter bottle to reduce the humidity a little. It IS OKAY TO GET SOME WATER ON THE CAKES!!! They love it. Trust me!

My fruiting chamber is a 55 gallon sterilite tub. It can handle lots of humidity before it starts to swamp. What kind of timer should i get if i want to have such small cycles. The only timer i have on hand right now is a lamp timer where you put those little tabs in to make it go on or off. I dont have enough of those tabs to run it many times a day.

I run for 30 minutes every two hours. My ultrasonic is hooked up to three 30 gallon tubes. On the one containor that has cakes, i run a hose into the side. On the two with casings I run the hose through the roof and have a diffusor i built that spreads the fog out the length of the container. It seem to be rocking my world.

I am planning on running my ultrasonic through the side on a timer about 30 minutes every couple hours. Hopefully it will rock my world as well.

that will be fine, run in on the side but near the top and put an exhaust hole on the other side near the bottom. C02 will never be an issue

If you can run it for ten mins every 2 hours you are good to go. Shit 2 mins will work

Tell me about it... this thing fills up my chamber in no time with fog... Unfortunatly my summer job will keep me away from the chamber for well over 12 hours everyday. So i need a timer to do the job for me... what kind is recommended.
