Post age, weight, and how much you can benchpress.

I'm 22, weigh 180 and bench around 230.

25 y/o, weigh 185, and benching a max of 200 at the moment.

At 20 years old was benching 225 pretty easily.  Getting older really sucks sometimes, lift those weights while you can before you get older and lazy like me

That's the thing with weight lifting. You really have to stick with a regular routine to maintain strength. I have my lazy days too.

19, 165lbs, 220lbs 1 rep max (i just CAN'T yet get that extra five lbs for the 2 45 plates on each side).

i'm in the gym alot though, 4 days a week for 1 to 1.5 hours.  i bench press twice a week and end up spending almost a half an hour on it.

i like this thread :smirk:...i don't hear too much about weight lifting ofen as i'm pretty much the only one of my friends that's into it.

Last time I checked:

Age 14
Weight ~130
Max. Bench 80lbs

I started off at 50lbs as I had absolutely no idea where to start and I realized even for me that was easy as pie. I moved up to 80lbs and gym class was over! I haven't benched anything to this day but I work out moderately. I need to start up again and do it consistantly.

have no idea what i can bench now.....but i do know its alot less than what i was doing when i used to actually work out. my senior year in highschool, i weighed 195 (160 during wrestling season) and my max was 305. once id reach my weight class for wrestling, it dropped to 200....now i bet id be lucky to put up my weight one time, which is 215

Make sure you're using correct form before you brag about how much you can bench. =) http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/chesttraining.htm

I don't do bench press anymore. It's not the best exercise for working the chest out, as many people think. Dips, dumbell press, dumbell flys, and cable crossovers would benefit your chest more.

I'm not hating on bench press, though. If you want to bench press, do it. I'm just saying, there's better ways to get mass + strengthen your chest.

I'm just saying - bench pressing without proper form (cheating) will enable you to use more weight. It's not technically bragging because you don't know that you're cheating, but I was only kidding anyways.

I'm 22 and 170lbs... I'm up to 8 rep sets of 160 in the gym, so my max is probably 180 or 185. I don't have a spot though so never tried it.
