No1: these mushrooms were blue before picking them, and a couple of hours later they have gone a purpely colour. the spore prints are brown (some spores have accumelated around the stem), caps are 3.5 cm the spore pockets (sorry dont know the name of it) are connected to the stem but only VERY lightly.....the stems are about 6 cm long and solid, and they smell like garden mushrooms.....i live in Newcastle N.S.W Australia.....thanks for any help!!!! it may keep me out of the emergancy room!!!! oh and i picked them out of the ground in a mossy area....this is the only photo i could get of it before the batterys went dead on my cammera

No2:cap size is round 2.5 cm same with the stems (long) spore prints were a darker brown, and same deal with the spore pockets connecting with the stems....to me these look more like alot of the shrooms on the site...also can anyone shed any light on this bit of "advice" i have heard....."white spore prints = poiseness, darker the prints the more likely its going to be safe"....sounds a tad sketchy to me...
thanks for the help anyone gives me!!!!
Cheers

Hi Nigs, welcome to the Shroomery.

A picture of the top of the cap is worth very little for ID purposes. We need to see the gills (spore pockets. :tongue2:).

From just seeing the caps I can say that:

#1 is not a Psilocybe. A brown spore print indicates that it is also not Panaeolus. We can conclude that it is not active even though we do not know what it is because all active shrooms which resemble it have been ruled out.

#2 is a little more difficult. The slimy golden brown cap and white stem along with darker brown spore print suggest that your specimens may be of the genus Psilocybe. However, something about the way the cap is splitting on the bottom left specimen looks distinctly non-Psilocybe. A look at the gills would really help here.

Neither species appears to be active to me, and if I were a betting man I would bet that #2 is poisonous.
