For anyone who needs a hygrometer...
    #4078229 - 04/20/05 07:49 PM (11 years, 7 months ago)

I bought a Fluker's hygrometer from petsmart after seeing someone post about it on here several times. After doing the salt calibration tek I found that mine is completely accurate. With all the bad luck I've seen posted by people with other hygrometers, this seems like the best bet for 17.99. It reads temperature and humidity and also records high and low.

On the high end 75-100 rh range, that one is +/- about 15%.

Thanks for the link, not very expensive for it being so accurate. Are all hygrometers calibratable.. cause then you could just buy a cheap one and calibrate it. maybe im confused.

at this point i think we can be relatively certain seperation exists as a fallacy of finite perception, and the only barrier to infinite creativity is a preimposed notion of certainty and artificial conditioning. nothing is without origin

Well, damn. Mine has been at a constant 75% since it had been in the glad container with the damp salt for a few hours. Thanks for the heads up.

U dont really need one. If ur caps start to crack, raise the humidity.

Do you know of one that is accurate at 90%+?
I got one of from lowes I thought was accurate 'til it actually hit 90%, then the reading turned to --

I got this one and it seems to be pretty accurate.
http://www.giftngadget.com/osrmr612hga.html

It was on sale for $20.99 at TARGET. However, I paid $0.00 for it cause the cashier didnt ring it up.
Normally I would have told the cashier of the mistake, as I have done so in the past.... but I really hate TARGET and everything they represent. I was only there because I got dragged there.

Any bad deed towards TARGET is a good deed in my book
I'll show them to not allow the salvation army to set up a booth at christmas.

Yes, but I was under the impression that Hygrometers start out accurate, and then after being at >95% for a while, they lose their accuracy.
