Bleach and Humidity

My incubator is set up similar to a pressure cooker. I have water in a large serilite, my aquarium heater, and a homemade 3/4 PVC grate, that allows me to set a smaller lid on top. On this surface i can place a lot of jars, or about 3 6.5qt (6 stacked) containers (WBS+50/50 T. Stud). My question is does bleach turn into humidity at 84*? My tub smells of bleach (I'm guessing 1.5Cups and 12-14Gal H2O), and there is humidity on the sides, but I'm not sure if that's bleach.

If it's an incubator, thats great. Chlorine isn't the smell, you are smelling chloramines formed when Cl kills the microorganisms. You should be ok

I don't know anything about the "why it smells" argument, but bleach kills everything, and I would not have standing bleach anywhere near my grow. There are other options.

I use very dilute bleach water in my PMPs and when I saturate my perlite for cake terrariums. Like 2 tablespoons per gallon. I have never encountered any problems from the bleach 'transferring' through the humidity, which is what I think the original poster was getting at. However, since I do that, I never put exposed substrate directly on the lava rocks/perlite, so they do not wick the water which may be too strong that way. Casings stay in their container and cakes go on plastic lids. I have very little contamination in general. You might check into iodine. I think it is between bleach and peroxide in strength.
Just my 2 cents
