cake in the blender

I have a cake that hasn't done anything...I was thinking about putting it in the blender with a little distilled water, and using it for an outdoor patch....putting it in the blender won't damage the mycelium or anything, will it?

You'll just have an unuseable slurry if you do that.

Better yet: Outfit a 1/2 pint jar with your blender base, add 100 ML water, and sterilize the entire thing in pressure cooker. In glovebox or trash bag, cut out a chunk from the center of the cake w/ a sterile utensil, and put it in the jar with blender base screwed in. Blend for 3 seconds, and you'll have 100 ML of the fastest growing mycelium you've ever seen. Sterilize some syringes and suck up the juice.

Now, use that to inoculate new substrate.
