it's officially spring, by the temps, here in MN. checked my favorite morel spots saturday, nothing yet but next weekend should prove a bumper first crop as temps are supposed to be favorable all week long. Will post pics if i can. Last year I found bout 5 pounds within mile stretch.

anyone else picking morels in the midwest or other places?

I'm in MN (SE) as well. Haven't looked yet, but will probably start peeking around in a few days. I'm hoping to be eating Brook trout, morels and wild asparigus for dinner within the next week.
Don't for get your DEET, ticks will be out in full force any day too.

sounds like a good goal, i haven't any time for trout as school has me tied up but morels with their short season take top priority,

good luck

I am a student at twin cities, I was wondering if you guys could help me out with some mushrooms that fruit in the spring, and the most probable habitats to find them in minnesota.

Thanx
