Can't get a list of...
    #4073590 - 04/19/05 07:14 PM (13 years, 3 days ago)

The alkaloid content of p. orientalis (sp?)- which I know the sp. is fucked, BTW- very sorry. But I bought Burpee brand seeds that are marked oriental poppy and I thing that they may fall under the aforementioned category. No latin name issued on the package however, so how do I know what the fuck is up? Bought at Home Depot, so it could swing wither way. Any experience with either these seeds or anyone know what alkaloids would be contained in them if they were p. orient....? Many thanks and blessings to those who feel inclined to help me.

It is not the same as somniferum. Orientalis is known as the perennial poppy.

I don't know much about that species but as far as i've heard their akaloids may be harmful.

But do plant them if you have the space - they have awesome blooms, as most papaver species do.

Your spelling is correct btw
