Incubation Temperature Fluctuations ok?
    #4073260 - 04/19/05 05:17 PM (13 years, 2 days ago)

I've had 4 quart jars incubating just over a week now. However, the weather here has caused my TiT temperatures to fluctuate between 82 and 85 degrees. Will this be a problem at all?

3 of the 4 jars had good growth after a week, I gave those 3 a good shake and put em back. The other jar showed very weak mycelial growth. Only a very tiny bit of visible white, like just a tiny speck. What do you suppose is the problem with that jar? Should I pull it out of the TiT or let it go?

Thanks for your advice ahead of time!

As far as jar 4, just let it go, you'll see it booming with mycelium in no time.  Don't get rid of it unless it starts smelling fermented/rancid or shows any obvious signs of contams.  Personally, I've noticed that sometimes my rye quarts that don't look like they're colonizing quickly end up that the middle was pretty colonized.  They usually end up at 100% colonized before my other jars that I shook up.  Only like 12-24 hours quicker, but still.  Anyway, GL bro :stoned:
