put a dry coffee filter over the lid of the jar and put a rubber band around it that might help

start over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over. In about 2 years your gonna get a working method.

here, let me cut 2 years out of the struggle, and reccommend that you use whole brown rice, and nix the BRF and verm. oh, and never use paper in and around your jars again. Take a slice of alum. foil, fold it over itself, put that in place of a lid, then screw it on with the jar rim, being careful not to rip the foil. After you boil your rice, allow it to evaporate any excess moisture off as not to allow condensation inside the jars.

theres 2 years worth of wisdom. GL.

just a suggestion, go to the post office and get some tyvek envelopes or order some they are 100% free, i ordered 50 about 3 weeks ago and they came in a timely fashion.http://shop.usps.com/cgi-bin/vsbv/postal_store_non_ssl/display_products/productDetail.jsp?OID=1684828
you won't have to worry or mess with coffee filters anymore.
